Pierre Antoine, creative inspiration and owner of Fibre Designs, opened the door to this bespoke studio in 2009. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo (then Belgian Congo), Pierre is a great believer in the craftsmanship and quality of his bespoke products. He has been commissioned by ABC New York, the world’s largest retailer of rugs, as well as by Takor (Spain), Merida Meridian (USA) and Casa Julio Tapestes (Brazil). Other corporate commissions include Anglo American’s prestigious Ravenswood Manor (Cape Town). Antoine’s knowledge of rugs is also well sought after by Sotheby’s and Christie’s for whom he often consults.

His talent for design, coupled with a specialist technical understanding of hand-woven textiles, positions Pierre as uniquely qualified to deliver products of distinct quality and beauty. Today Fibre Designs is a creative haven for home owners, interior designers and architects.

Interior Designer, Leanne Fairweather has recently put down roots in Cape Town from London. Obsessive about good design she is always striving to innovate and inspire. With expert understanding of textiles she knows just  how to best use and place them. Guiding you through the rug buying process, helping you find the perfect piece.

We just wouldn’t be able to operate if it weren’t for the men in our team. Clive van der Vent, our studio manager, has been with us since Solomon’s days (30 years). And then we have the newbie, our ever smiling John-ji Jaftha.  Who’s been part of the team for only 8 years. Between the two, you can count on a completely personal and professional service.
